Yes, you should celebrate wildly when your hero gets easy matches instead of stiff competition.
As you did in the 2010 World Championship.

One bye final does not equate to a virtual bye tournament

No, because that wouldn't be a true statement.......however, his run to the Worlds was the simplest ever as regards rankings of players faced, thats a fact
As far as pro robbo comments, there are probably more than your pro English player posts

he did get a lucky draw at the Masters cos he faced a bunch of players whod rather lose playing their natural attacking style than win by lower themselves to take him on his own game - namely snooker

Robbo will probably grind out a win against has-been Hendry (using his usual go-slow bore tactics) but he will sustain a serious beating when he faces anyone good.
(Unless he gets lucky and avoids all the good players - as in 2010 WC).

Okay. Tell me, which great players did Robbo face on his way to the world title?
(Steve Davis doesn't count because he had long since passed his sell-by date.)

er, that would be the same former finalist who you claimed was a bye for Ronnie
hardly say a bye can count as a former finalist
the average ranking of the guys he faced en route to the world title was this
31
46
23
5
28
and the fact that the 5 was donkey Carter says it all

In the modern era, that must be the highest combined ranking route to the crown by a country mile!!!!

I wouldn't call Dott and Carter great players. But, now you come to mention it, Dott should really have won the final.
