I was hoping for some country to break through like Spain did in the darts one last year when they knocked out England & Scotland and made the semis. I wanted Malta to get through although I didn't want it to be at China's expense. I nearly would rather have Germany or Pakistan in the knockouts than Ireland. It's not like we're going to win it anyway.

Darren Morgan was in the team. He left during the tournament, as his mother died whilst he was in Thailand.
Darren's father died, just after he was knocked out by Stephen Hendry in The World Championship quarter finals later that season. His father was curiously named Morgan Morgan.
Wayne Jones was way down the rankings by then, and wasn't in the picture.
Vinnie Jones was team coach; "Pot those balls boys, or else you're getting it in the neck".
