It's arguable he was the best long potter, I can't prove that. But he certainly was just as good as Trump. In my opinion, he was better.

I have watched hundreds of his matches, IMO he wasn't as good a long potter as Trump or Robbo.
You are right about one thing though, neither of us will budge on his beliefs, so we better call this a night.
I'm still gonna make that video and send it to you though.

That video has no point mate. Don't bother.
I could make a vid of Hendry potting 100 amazing long ones and I could make a vid of Trump missing 100 long ones by a mile. Doesn't prove anything.

And yeah the way they play(ed) was a factor in that inconsistency. Ronnie’s first WC for example was a cathartic moment for fans who suspected he might be another Jimmy who’d never capitalise on his talent.
No, it didn't. The excitement of being a Ronnie fan came from the way he played the game. Same goes for Alex and Jimmy. That's why they instantly developed a fan base since they burst on the scene.
Sure, some casual fans of the sport liked the drama and not knowing which version of those greats would show up, but the vast majority of their fans enjoyed them due to their style of play.
As a diehard ROS fan, I want him to win every match/event he plays in. I wish he'd win the WC, UK, Masters, CoC and another 10 rankers every single year. If he were to go unbeaten for a decade, I'd be the happiest man on Earth. I'd never get bored of him playing and winning.

There is definitely element of truth in that.

O'Sullivan is great for the game too, millions and millions across the globe got into Snooker, me included, because of him, his style of play and unpredictability.
But yes he sometimes can come across as someone who doesnt respect the sport. However, in general, he's done far more good to the sport than bad.

You can feel it oozing out of him whenever he has to talk about Ronnie.
Deep down he knows no matter who he beats and what he achieves he will always be in Ronnie's shadow, and that must eat away at his soul.
