I doubt any changes will happen until.
A. TV companies don't want to show the current format.
B. Ticket sales go down.
C. TV viewing figures go down.
And suspect tied into this format at least until current tv contracts end.

B is impossible because the venue is so small. C is not happening at the moment and A is dependent on C.
Another factor are the players' wishes. I wonder what the results would be if you polled them.

Nobody seems to mind that it's a ranking event, so why not?
Just let Barry Hearn Flip a coin to see who wins each match then we all go to the pub and get bladdered.
Its pretty obvious to me there's some people out there that don't want to actually watch the matches they just want a instant result

How about having 2 tables for the final as well? With the rules of Big Break in operation? John Virgo could ask the questions and the reds could be removed and prizes could be won.....

Each session is a match. Why are you asking for less matches.

semis is the only round that should be reduced. First to 14 would be plenty, make it a 3 session semi

Exactly
its like canceling an exhibition because there's no end goal
First session of a best of 33 is important it gives players a chilled out session
