Yeah, I didn't like the bit about him wishing he owned more rental properties.

Deewee - given the opportunity, would you not be a landlord?

Blimey, he's like the opposite of Willie Thorne.
Of course he talks about golf, it's his major passion. Just like I bang on about my passions to anyone who will listen

There's a lot of money in it.
Obviously you need to be able to afford a second home to rent out in the first place. But then you get lodgers who pay all the bills, and pay you in rent three or four times more than you'd be paying in a mortgage.

"Snooker champion Dennis Taylor will never forget the day he potted the black against Steve Davis in the 1985 World Championship and made £60,000 in just ten seconds."
Oh, so he got paid that for just potting the black did he?

The previous two days worth of play have nothing to do with it.......

He seems ok enough. Not a big fan of the landlord thing but it's not like he owns Grenfell tower.

Some good comments under the article. Particularly "He's a boomer, of course he's done alright at the expense of everybody else" Plus this

Typical Northern Irish, always expecting something for nothing.

he earned his money the hard way, unlike the English landed gentry
There's a well known wrestler from Canada called Lance Storm.

Yes anyone who doesnt know about the 85 Final would think he just pitched up and potted the black lol..
He had to first reach the Final and win 18 frames against the best player in the world.

Also, don't agree about the care thing for the elderly. Not sure where Taylor expects the money to come from.

I preferred it to WWF at that time as all my favourites were in it.

Funny enough when they were doing that a lot of their wrestlers went the other way. The likes of Vader, Austin, Foley, Pillman, Dustin Rhodes/Goldust, Johnny B Badd/Marc Mero and Triple H. Austin became one of the biggest stars they ever had and had a huge role putting WWF back on top while Foley became a huge star as well.

Difference is, people like Trippers and Steve Austin weren't huge stars until they left.
