Davis is a very nice man. I know that Higgins dragged the game into the limelight, but this man carried the torch further than any before him. A true champion, and a gentleman.

He really did. I loved him in the 80s, I found his play captivating.

He got the bottom with me, when I asked for his autograph.

I seem to recall you saying once that you haven't been offended by something someone said on an internet forum since the '90's. I think you will need to retract that one now.
I was never a Steve Davis fan back in the day. Nothing personal, especially not in the Monty Python sense, but as a fan, I always enjoyed rooting for the underdog. In his prime, Steve Davis never filled that role. He was boring and predictable. He would win. Who could root for that?
But I have come to respect and admire Steve as he and as I have matured. This clip shows his true humility. Thanks for the tip, Dan-cat. I especially like 2:09. Didn't know that Steve was a Rottweiler man. I have had two and it would be hard to find a more faithful and loyal companion. This alone tells me a lot about Steve.

The Nugget wins the Irish Senior Masters 2018, after replacing Stephen Hendry at the last minute.

@SteveSnooker Tell us honestly Mr Nugget sir - how much did you practice for the Irish Seniors? You looked in ace form. You stand in for @SHendry775, stroll in and win it, in between techno assignments! You're on for the Seniors Triple Crown! @Snookerlegends

I stood by Bagley in a pub, but didn't know who he was.
