Tournament winners: Masters + all stagings of ranking events

Postby Pink Ball

I've added to the list I made here of players in order of ranking titles combined with Masters titles here. This time I've included all stagings of every tournament that either had or gained ranking status (which, regrettably, includes the Shoot Out). Steve Davis is the main man to benefit here, going to the top of the list. Many of his tournament wins were before those events gained ranking status.

World Championships won by challenge match are not included (John Pulman x 7, Joe Davis x 1).

1  Steve Davis 50 (Plus 22) (3 x Masters, 2x UK, 1 x China Open, 1 x Australian Open, 3 x British Open, 1 x Canadian Masters, 2 x Classics, 8 x Irish Masters, 1 x Thailand Masters)

What about events that were rankers, but later became invitationals again? Would you include those?

I'm thinking of events like the Malta Cup and German Open.

For example Shaun Murphy won the Malta Cup twice in 2007 and 2008. The latter being an invitational when previously it had been a ranker for most its existence.

I see you have. I should have read it properly instead of skim through it like I usually do with your posts.

I know to give your posts the time and attention they deserve....which is hardly any.
