I'd have Steve Davis above Higgins and Selby above Williams.

Yes, but that would be Juddernaut88’s Top 10 players of all time, this is PinkBall’s Top 10 players of all time and, as such, the list is unimpeachable.

I don't understand why people are still putting Williams above Selby.

Hello?
Subjective opinions; we covered this. It is not an exact science. Now go create your own list, or hassle some poor sod about quiz-slacking

Williams’ peak game was a step above Selby’s peak game. I say ‘was’ because it’s been about 20 years since he was consistently playing at his peak. For a brief period he was head and shoulders above his peers, which included Ron, Hendry and Higgins.
Selby has never played to that level. Not quite.
Obviously this is just one factor in the greatness debate. So I’m not saying it’s decisive. But if you were watching the game then you’ll know exactly what I mean. If you weren’t watching the game then, you’ll probably contest this with a deeply flawed argument and make yourself look a bit silly. So don’t even try.

I do feel people underestimate peak Selby. I'm not saying it's better than peak Williams, but it's still pretty frightening stuff.

Peak Selby is frightening stuff. He’s unplayable when he’s really on it. I’m taking nothing away from Selby.
But peak Williams was a bit different.
