Apparently there was a snooker table in Manilla, but he went on his holidays to Riga, met a shapely 9ft Brunswick American Pool table and never came back

Wouldn't surprise me with the rules banning foreign real estate ownership in the Philippines.

I have reconciled myself to playing pool in Manila (or "billiards" as they apparently say). However, there are so many different types of pool, so my question is, does anyone know what the main type of pool played in Manila is?

Rotating the table seems like more trouble than walking round it. How much trouble does that actually save anybody?
