I only really got in to snooker properly from 2005 onwards so never saw the full match.
Can anyone who was a proper fan back then remember how this match developed and how Hunter managed to lose.
Was it mainly a Hunter collapse or inspired player from Doherty.
I have saw bits and pieces from you tube but without watching the whole match its hard to know exactly what happened.
Thanks in advance

Yeah I have also watched bits of it on Youtube but unfortunately no one seems to have the whole match uploaded.
It definately was one of the all time Crucible matches, I think Doherty played very well to recover from that deficit, but Hunter also must have helped a bit I think.
Hopefully someone will upload the whole thing one day.

Doherty was making comebacks pretty much all that tournament.
He was a long way down to Mark Williams in the final too. Started a bit of a comeback to make it close.

I had an each way bet on Doherty to win the world title that year. Made quite a bit of money.

Doherty was involved in a come back of some sort in every game. He was on the receiving end against Higgins when he led 10-0 only for Higgins to reduce it 10-7.
