Selby as the WC is without doubt the best player in the world right now.
But which of the above mentioned player is the better player overall conidering talent and achievements in their careeres so far?
Selby (4 rankers off 10 finals incl. 1 WC off 2 finals and 1 UK off 2 finals plus 3 Masters off 5 finals)
Robertson ( 10 rankers off 16 finals incl. 1 WC and 1 UK plus 1 Masters off 2 finals)
Carter (3 rankers off 6 finals, 2 times WC finalist)
Trump (4 rankers off 7 finals incl. 1 UK, WC finalist)
Maguire (5 rankers off 10 finals incl. 1 UK off 2 finals)
Murphy (5 rankers off 9 finals incl. 1 WC off 2 finals and 1 UK off 2 finals, Masters finalist)
Ding (11 rankers off 14 finals incl. 2 UK titles plus 1 Masters)
Honourable mentions:
Dott ( 2 rankers off 7 finals incl. 1 WC off 3 finals)
Ebdon ( 9 titles off 17 finals incl. 1 WC off 3 finals and 1 UK off 2 finals)
Discuss.

im ruling out Trump, Murphy, Maguire, Carter, Dott and Ebdon
Great players in their own right and Judd still has time on his hands but their consistencies have never been great.
Ding had a great season winning 5 titles but still no World Final and only 1 semi to his name 4 years ago
Selby has flattered to deceived on so many fronts and im looking for a much better return from him now he is World Champion.
for me Neil Robertson is the Best because over the last 9 years he has consistently won tournaments and reached finals.

I voted Ding, he's the best snooker player of those seven. Can get a bit edgy and emotional in certain situations so doesn't win the world titles, but then Ronnie used to get edgy also pre-2001; it's a great players fault. He Just needs to refrain from over playing, get his head sorted out and he'll win a world title.

lol... by that logic Mark Johnston Allen is better than Hendry as he won all of their 3 meetings and Hendry couldn't stand playing him...
Head to heads don't mean much here mate.

Johnstone Allen owned Hendry. Sourface had no answer to him, as the stats clearly show.

Hahaha good stats :) I liked MJA I remember the BBC doing a profile on him about how he was 'not like the other snooker players' because he went to a private school or something.

http://www.cuetracker.net/pages/compare ... 1=3&ID2=16Ding leads Robertson in hth, matches won (%), tournaments won (%), maximums, deciders won (%), whitewashes won (%), average number of centuries per season (Ding 30 2/3, Robertson 24.8), average prize money per season (Ding 180900 GBP, Robertson 167442 GBP)
Robertson lead in century rate, total centuries and total prize money.
They draw in age first turned pro (Robertson 16, Ding 16)
So, what do you think?
