One of snooker's best ever referees has passed away. For those of us old enough to remember Len, we will remember a jovial, larger than life character, who always had a smile on his face.
R.I.P. Len

Absolutely. I saw him at the Crucible as recently as this year and he would always give a jovial "Hello young man" back when I said hello to him. I liked him. RIP.

One of my favourite Ganley moments was when the semi finals of the 85 World Champs had finished early, and he refereed the exhibition between Virgo and Reardon. Those three together were hilarious that afternoon, well worth bunking off school for.
Another personal favourite was when he kept calling Dennis Taylor for a miss when he was playing Mick Price in the 92 Championship. Taylor totally lost his rag. It was great.
