Not really. They took the fan's vote at The Crucible. Judd's run captured the imagination of many that fortnight, so there'd be a lot of fans who voted for him. And John Higgins, well a player who won the UK and World Title was always going to get Player Of The Year awards.

Yes, but fits the wrong criteria to receive a snooker award, to be fair.

Looks about right IMO.
I hope Trumpy can keep up the good work and keep Higgins at bay this season.
I am hoping for Ding to make his mark at the very top .

Well lets face it,He should have bagged the UK,And he had his chances in the WC semi with Higgins,On balance he deserves the accolade.

bullocks.
He should have bagged the UK, but didn't.
He had his chances in the semi with Higgins, but didn't take them.
How exactly does that make him a better choice for Player of the Year?

You see, that's the thing... John Higgins clearly HAS been the best player this season. By a country mile. Everybody else seems to acknowledge that. So why then have the players not?

Because he only played half a season
Either that or some of the players are shunning him.

Far more likely to be the latter option Case. Half a season or not, he schooled everyone.

Well, yeah. Half a season, and he still won more then anybody else. The 'half a season' logic just doesn't make sense. He was still UK Champion and World Champion.
I mean Mark Williams lost the UK final, and got to the Crucible semis. But ended up losing to Higgins both times, and for all his top form only had a German Masters to show for it.

Mark Williams is a disgrace. How much money did he cost punters backing him when he wasn't trying for years?
Snooker is tainted forever.

Also the 147 Awards - all the 147s this season got a snazzy pair of cufflinks.
At the ceremony to receive theirs included On q Promotions' Barry Hawkins - well done Bazza
The drinking awards will be handed out next week when everyone has sobered up!
