these same guys who were Davis's rivals in the 80s were dismissed by Wild as being no hopers yet he choses to ignore the fact that the bulk of the top 16 in the early 90s still consisted of these very same guys
I looked up and see what you're referring to. Yep, you win that one

Any Hendry fan will openly admit his day has gone now (old age wearing him down as it does with all players as it did with Davis before him and will do with the likes of O'Sullivan as well). That is the reason he no longer wins titles. Look at the world champions and you'll have a good long search to find one in their late 30's say. But that doesn't detract from his immense acheivements and likewise Davis immense achievements before him.
One thing Hendry and Davis can boast that nobody since can was that they were the kings of their eras - Davis in the 80's and Hendry in the 90's. Now people can and will argue about the stronger 00's but I disagree especially if you look and see that Graeme Dott has reached three world finals. Put him back in the 80's or 90's and could he have boasted such a stat?

Williams was a contender Later than the other 2 but he was the first to reach two finals and both before Ronnie reached his first

So if we factor in the Majors how come your list which initially was 100% based on the rankings titles won had Higgins ahead ?
And as for Dale ahead of Higgins, everyone knows its nonsense but the ranking list you use as your bible says its isnt
Oh and if we factor in the Majors then the likes of Reardon etc have to enter the question

This table I posted on 606 the other day (now modified to account for Welsh Open) takes into account all viable stats and figures of the five greatest players of all-time and this was the result:-
1st Stephen Hendry 42 points
2nd Ronnie O'Sullivan 30 points
3rd Steve Davis 28 points
4th John Higgins 25 points
5th Mark Williams 14 points

That is the way that it panned out mainly because it includes stats of centuries and maximums where Ronnie is strong and Steve is weak.

if we want to go into the future then might as well have Trump and Brecel on the GOAT list then
and if we can go into the future then why not the past?
Joe Davis anyone? or is he a non runner?
Does that mean in 50 years when the 80s and 90s is no longer classed as the "modern era" and is the olden days then Davis and Hendrys achievments will be forgotten as they fade from the living memory.

Just to add that my table is made up of the following:-
Ranking titles won
World titles
World finals
UK Titles
Masters Titles
Centuries Scored
Maximums Scored
Centuries Average Per Season
Yes but remember this was posted to include if for Seifer's purpose so that Ronnie got every chance and he still never finished top.
