Is there a case to abolish the miss rule?

yes but on every snooker these days the ref studdies the position very carefully to see where the balls should be replaced if theres a miss. suerly in the time he or she studdies ball positions they can make a judgement call on the difficulty of the shot in relation to how close the player gets to it.
