I like Dott more then I used to, but that dislike came from him needing several security guards to escort him from The Crucible one time, as he didn't want to sign autographs. He had just lost in the first round whilst being defending World Champion, though. I agree with you about Dott though, he has no aura about him. He tends to be one of those people who you forget was World Champion, even when he was the reigning champion.

Marco doesn't show much personality, but he is a nice bloke. I think my fandom from him stemmed from when there was only him and James Wattana playing who were Asian. No, it's less of a novelty. And also, weirdly, when he wasn't top-16. When he played somebody in a ranker as a qualifier, he was playing big names from the start. Seeing a John Higgins or Ronnie playing Marco Fu in the first round made me think; "Oooh, that'll be a good match." Seeing him be the top-16 player against the likes of Barry Hawkins or Marcus Campbell doesn't quite have the same wow-factor. Maybe, just like people say, he's not charismatic enough to carry the interest for the match himself. But I still think he's a nice guy. He seems to have time for people when he's wondering around the arena. Some of the top-16 don't. (See above.)

But that was the time Dott lost to McCulloch and he was very wound up and frustrated after the match and said some not very nice things about his opponent. Plus it would've been around the time he was getting depressed so you can't hold it against him that one time. It's a bit like witz basing his hatred on John Higgins because he approached him in a nightclub the day after he went out in round 2 and asked him who he thought would win the title or something like that - talk about asking the wrong question at the wrong time. No wonder Higgins fobbed him off <laugh>

What's the big deal about that shirt? He looked like he worked at Thorpe Park.

I've never been to Thorpe Park. My impression of that shirt was that it was ever so slightly on the camp side :)
