Now I know the vast majority of that is due to the O'Sullivan effect but even if you downsize that to 25% for a regular tournament which gradually increases per round come the final, a tournament would be sustainable.
I have seen a few clips on YouTube and the stadium is packed. It's not some British, down the road pub style £5 a night type of attendance.

Maybe they don't put up the moolah that the WST would expect?
Or maybe the WST just aren't very fat with this sort of thing?

I was in Hungary about 15 years ago. I remember that the taxi driver asked if I liked snooker and that was the topic of conversation all the way from the airport to the hotel.
