book it
whatever ever happens after is up in the air but he is 100% reaching the one table setup after nearly a decade on underperforming, this is the type of season he needed to come hungry at the Crucible

would be funny but the sort of thing that can happen in sports. Robertson reaching the one table stage or maybe even winning his 2nd World title after a poor season.

What, they start swearing indiscriminately and denying Covid with a whiff of racism towards the Chinese?

This could be where Neil has a quite season but ends up winning the World title. I wouldn't at all be surprised if that happens.

Nor would I. Neither would I be surprised if he went out to Ryan Day in Round 2.

He had a similar season back in 2016/2017 but it didn't end that way.

Did he win anything that season? I actually can't remember.

He's famously won at least one event a season for 17 seasons.

Calendar years, innit.
Robbo won the Riga Masters in 16/17, beating his Crucible nemesis Michael Holt 5-2 in the final.
The last season where he won nothing at all was 07/08 where his best finishes were a couple of ranking QFs, and runner-up in the Paul Hunter Open.

It's not that common for a player to have a poor season and win the World Championship although the lack of form players right now makes it more likely.
Robertson will definitely get to the one table stage at least once more.
