As amazing as Higgins’ performance was, it’s looking more and more like MJW is going to change a part of the game that’s been basically the same for decades, as players continue to adopt his break-off.

Interesting point from Iranu. But I’ve gone for the Higgins performance. It was scary.

Good point.
The BBC got quite annoying pretending it was controversial, until they realised that everybody else was doing it.

That's the thing isn't it... if it was only MJW doing it, it wouldn't be half as popular as it is now. And players like Robbo, Allen, Higgins and Ronnie even did it at the WC, no less.
We may like it or may not like it, or even may not care less, but it did generate a lot of fuss about it and will continue to do so.

I actually thought Mark Williams' break off shot was a good idea. The BBC acted liked he'd beat up someone's gran every time he did it.
Eurosport were more positive about it, if I remember correctly.
