LOL @ this schedule
ZERO BREAKS FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT
NOT EVEN A BREAK BEFORE THE UK CHAMPS STARTS
This has to be the worst scheduling ever, no way you can expect quality high level snooker from this

They literally have July and August, 2 months with nothing in there

It's very distressing to see the way in which lower-ranked players are excluded from the main venues, from every tournament now.

asap
imagine if the International Championship and World Open don't return. Where Judd is defending 350,000 rankings points,
350k!!!all get dropped and hands Selby the #1 ranking on a silver platter, smh it'd be so undeserved

I would imagine they would have thought of that in case there's no China events to defend the points from, so would be unfair if Judd lost his number 1 place by not having a chance to reclaim those points.

I know.
How dare they have so much snooker? Back to six ranking events a year.

According to some posters there's already too much snooker.

Ace is right in terms of October-December period. There should be a mini break somewhere.
Best thing would be to to reduce 1-2 tournaments during that period and let them happen in Summer.

I'd also they rather have Paul Hunter Classic and Riga Masters instead of the Championship league in July.

Players are not obliged to play in every tournament. They can pull out if they need a break. What's stopping them?
Better to have lots of tournaments for those that wish to play.

I see your point but some players need the ranking points to stay in top 16, then also ensuring they can get into the top 32 on 1 year list to qualify for the World Grand Prix. Skipping few events could be risky for some players.
Judd Trump also probably will have to play in everything for the 1st half of the season to try and keep his number 1 spot due to the amount of points he will be losing and looking unlikely The International championship and World Open are going to go ahead.

Many players need the ranking points to
stay alive, both in ranking terms and also to feed themselves.
OK, top players can take a break anytime they want. But it's not just about the top players.

Also only a few players are playing to the end, most of them only do a couple of days.

But the lower ranked players won’t be going deep every tournament so they’ll have a few days in between each event

If you bothered to read instead butting your stupid opinion in ( as usual) you'd see I never said there's too many
tournaments, I said the
schedule (I have to bold words for single braincell users like you) is horrendous with
cramming all those tournaments together when there's literally
July and
August they could use to spread some of those tournaments out
imagine thinking having the Champion of Champions and the UK Championship back to back within a space of 2-3 days is a great idea

Is the CL ranking this time?
Oct-Dec is only wall to wall if all the provisional tournaments happen.

even then why not use July and August for provisional dates?
you get all those tournaments nicely spread out and snooker season starts with proper snooker earlier than September
Champion of Champions and the UK being wall to wall is atrocious, there's 2 big events there should be space between those 2

Agreed, could easily have scrapped the Championship league, had 2 ranking events in July and 2 in August, some of those "potential ranking events" wouldn't then have been needed in October and November and there was also no need to mess with the home nation events by adding qualifiers etc, just keep it how it is and the calendar would look a lot better.
