Higgins was a class player, but it has to be Reardon.

Reardon, mainly for him beating Alex in the last 16 of Pot Black '86.

But Reardon had his measure through the 70s when they were both at their peak. He just had too much of an all-round game for an instinctive flair player like Alex

According to Cuetracker Alex won 26 of their encounters as opposed to Ray's 16 and they had one draw. Based on that I'd say Alex but then Ray did won the world title more so hard one.
