Post your interesting snooker related statistics here.
To start:
5-3 is the most frequent scoreline in best of 9 matches with 12566 occurrences. Remarkably, it only just leads as 5-2 has occurred 12458 times. I will update after each session tomorrow.

Not strictly a statistic but I like Foulds’ fact that the pink’s basically never on its spot during a 147.

Robbo is the only player to make 100 centuries in one season (2013/2014).
Is he the only player to go to the wrong venue as well? Not sure, but bloody hope not otherwise I might have to change my favourite player!

Higgins' ability to win deciding frames is overstated.
He's won: 160/277 (57.76%)
Ronnie has won: 141/220 (64.09%)
Mark (Williams) has won: 171/314 (54.46%)
Ding has won: 111/179 (62.01%)
Hendry has won: 134/223 (60.09%)
Trump has won: 112/223 (50.22%)

Number of centuries in ranking finals by player:
apparently Hendry made around 45 centuries
Ronnie around 35
and Judd already around 25
Don't know the validity of this, I'm unable to find this statistic back online, but it's an odd stat.
I don't think Hendry played in ~30% more finals than Ronnie.
Cloths were slower in the '90's
both are equally good in breakbuilding
is there maybe a difference in tight pockets? difference between BCE or Riley tables.
also Judd already has a relatively large number of them compared to Ronnie... but he did make a lot in the last WC final...

Why is that again? I've been told before, but forgot.
Just the way that the reds and black splits disrupts the pink?

Isn't that kind of true of all breaks though?
By the time you've got to potting the colours, you'd have already potted the red that was touching it at the start?

A lot of other breaks the pink will have been potted after the reds are split, and respotted. This obviously can't happen in a maximum.

It is feasible to make a Max and not move the pink. Just vanishingly small probability.

Yes but I don't think it can be moved and then respotted.
It could be moved and then coincidentally cannoned back to its exact previous position.

Pot all the other reds and then the one touching the pink with some sort of double towards the top end.

If someone plays a safety with 15 reds on and accidentally pots the pink it could theoretically be respotted without interfering with the availability of any reds.

That's true. Also if the pink were a nominated red as a free ball.

Does it count as a maximum if you make 147 with 16 ‘reds’?

No you would need to make 155 in that case.

It's a point though. I take it that it would count towards the maximum tally if you got a 155 though, wouldn't it?
