it will be very interesting wild, there were some rumours of a secret meeting ronnie had with barry hearn where he agreed to play the bbc majors , anyway all will be revealed next week :-)

Re: Will he.....won't he???

Organising it 4 days in advance is a bit odd.

Anybody want to take bets? My money is him willing to play in the WC but that being his last ever tournament.

its been mentioned if a player decides to enter a press conference isn't necessary just enter it.

either its a Barry Hearn Publicity Machine which its well Possible or its very BIG.

Yeah Casey when I read this news I also thought the same.. but it's all speculation of course, but at the moment it's looking like a very possible situation to occur.

I hope so, but I will only be certain of that when I see him there. It's not so much that he's "changing his mind all the time " - at least not just for the sake of it - it's that his mood is up and down a lot and with it how he feels about things. That's also why even people around him have different perceptions.

yea but that doesn't add up to the sort of personality Ronnie has.

would he call a press conference Just to say that?

surely there's more to it than just that

I think that much is obvious, but is there any more to it would be my question.

Indeed wild, there is certainly more than wether he will play at the Crucible or not. I rather expect a statement about the future: retirement, reduced schedule? ... We can only wait and see though.

That's not true.
In York last season there was no need for the "balcony policy" to make it look full , this year there was. And in Germany the crowd in the first 3 days was not even half of what it was last season.
I know it's not the official discourse, but it's what I and everyone who was present have seen.
I'm NOT saying that it's because of Ronnie. It might be because people have less money and prices of the tickets have increased. But it's the truth: in every event I've attended BOTH last season and this one, there was LESS audience this season than in the previous one whatever WSA wants us to believe.

Monique if tats true in going to accuse world snooker of being dishonest. And tell them that you say so.

Re: Will he.....won't he???

Postby Roland

York was no different, they didn't open the balcony last year because the stalls sold out, they just closed it this year out of spite because most people prefer to sit there.

i think ronnie will come back, i hope he does as the wc won't be the same without him there to defend it. i give him a chance of winning but tbh i think the winner will come from selby, robbo, judd or john higgins ,

John Higgins?

apart from the pattern since 2007 i cant see that happening.

Re: Will he.....won't he???

Postby Casey

If Higgins gets a draw like Ronnie did last year then he has a chance. :pal:

If he is going to retire I hope he plays one last time in Sheffield, that would be a better way to sign off on his career.

monique says he doesn't enjoy the limelight but i think this confirms he does.

for a player that has personal problems that took him away from the sport for almost a year to then do this is baffling.

thats why i thought there was more to it than just saying "im going back to work"
