Now you've done it.
She's one of the loves of my musiclife!
I saw her a year or so ago here in Toronto at Massey Hall.
While her bald drop dead gorgeous beauty had aged... her voice had mellowed and richened and her
maturity was astonishingly expressive... better than I had remembered her back in 1989
when I accidentally bumped into her on a small dance floor in a tiny club here in Toronto.
I can PM you that story if you like.
For me she is Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Edith Piaf, Annie Lennox, Rose McGowan, Mary Margaret O'Hara, etc. X 2.
and this is why....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1I-Xwxbm ... re=relatedThis is my favourite of hers... here sung acapella live. I remember a version in which she did a similar
acapella that all of a sudden busted into the music for the recorded song on a ghetto blaster and she
danced (as on the grave) in Doc Martens... I wish I could find that work of art!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7coUd9WC1gI have faithfully loved all her work forever it seems.
