I think it is a problem with any sports where the outcome is one individual v one individual.

Snooker is a very easy game to fix - miss a crucial pot, play a weak safety shot, etc.

Must be tempting for lower ranked players who arent earning much to try to "boost" their incomes.

It must have gone on occasionally.

I would like to think a professional player could spot an opponent trying to "throw" a frame or match a mile off but if fellow pros cant spot it there is not much chance of anyone else spotting it either.

Unusual betting patterns also dont necessarily mean anything, sometimes the bookies just get the odds wrong and savvy punters snap up the bets at a particular price as they are too good to miss.
