If Ronnie wins, great.
If he doesn't, who cares?
I got a 10m swimming badge when I was a kid. That's comparable in terms of prestige.

There must have been a Mars bar at the end of the pool.

Don’t be stupid.
There was a cardboard cutout of Michaela Tabb.

I never took to the SPOTY that seriously.
Hamilton deserves it. It was very brave of him to stand up to Barry Hearn earlier in the year.
love your work

It's not about winning it or not, it's about Snooker being nominated more than anything else. Surely you do care about Snooker?

I see your point. They do never nominate snooker. And it is nice that they have this year.
But the fact that they don't include a wide range of sports is what makes me not care about the SPOTY. It's clearly a Mickey Mouse award ceremony, where the BBC sports staff just have a Christmas party and suck up to their favourite sport's stars.
As said earlier, it feels a bit like a token gesture in a year where a lot of sport's events were cancelled. Would Ronnie have been there had the Olympics gone ahead, for example? Also, it's pretty much odds on that Lewis Hamilton is going to win it this year.
It's nice that the BBC for once remembered what snooker is, but it's going to take more than that for me to take the SPOTY as a serious event. I don't even know that many people who watch it.

Hamilton demonstrating his personality
Ronnie’s cue alone has more personality.
Hamilton was always going to win, though.

Ronnie should made Top 3, but it doesn't matter. Snooker is once again recognised, and that's good for the sport.

If there’s one thing SPOTY isn’t about, it’s personality.

Henderson being nominated is an absolute joke. He's an okay player but nothing special. I hate Harry Kane but even he's far more worthy to be nominated over Henderson lol.

Judd Trump probably won't ever be nominated, let alone runner up.

We all knew SPOTY was a farce. Why are so many people bothered? Is it that important that snooker gets the approval of Clare Balding? I mean, who gives a buck?
