Spot on Gong Chenzhi merited Rookie of the Year - only Antoni Kowalski came close. Bai Yulu should have won best woman player.
Performance of the Year sure Zhao Xintong is a deserving winner but this season there was a second performance that fully merited winning an award - that of Lei Peifan winning the Scottish Open.
Fans player of the year is meaningless as WST limited choice to a mere four players. I wonder how Chinese snooker fans responded to being informed that no Chinese player merited votes.

They just give Hall Of Fame inductions to anybody who has won the World Title, don't they?
I didn't even realise it was a thing until a couple of years ago.

I think that's how I realised it existed.
The BBC made a big deal out of Virgo getting a Hall Of Fame induction.

It did feel a bit WWE the way they were bringing it up.
Next thing we do they’ll be getting Hall of Fame rings and televising the awards night.

Hazel was calling him Hall Of Famer John Virgo during The Crucible Final.
I wonder if Virgo is precious about people knowing that he's in it.

I think it’s more of a BBC thing trying to crowbar prestige into their presenters.
Which raises the question, do they not think the UK Championship is big enough? Why would a little-known and arbitrary “Hall of Fame” be worth mentioning ahead of a major tournament victory on your own channel?

Who knows?
A quick Google search confirms that Davis, Hendry, Taylor, Doherty, and Parrott are all in it. So the majority of people the BBC have as commentators are in it. And yet, the only person they bang on about being in it is Virgo.
Maybe like you say, the BBC think that Virgo with no World Titles needs bigging up more.

Yep. Anyone who beats Dominic Dale, Joe O'Connor, John Higgins, David Gilbert, and Jak Jones in a single event is a shoo-in.
