Dott should be permitted to play. He is innocent for now.

Indeed. Innocent until proven guilty.

Yeah I wonder if he's found innocent, with he owed money for all the tournaments missed?

Edit: Someone on Facebook said they're probably playing it safe, in case against all the odds he was to win the world title and then the embarrassment if he's convicted. Yeah he's won it before, but even recently on this forum someone confessed to forgetting he'd won it.

Not a chance Dott can be in any state of mind to play, innocent or not. The venue would have been visited by protesters and ruined it for other players, correct decision.

The least of anyone's concerns (including his) right now should be him playing in the qualifiers. No option but to suspend him until the outcome of the court case is known.

He’s been sacked; replaced by Neil Robotson as the new correspondent <ok>

Think he shouldn’t have been sacked until proven guilty or otherwise? Take it up with Manty

Are people forgetting the backlash the WPBSA received for letting Michael White play until after his sentencing?

Re: Dott in trouble

players have leave to appeal a provisional suspension anyway. presumably in this case this has not been taken up.

Match fixers, women abusers and now podophiles all in the span of 3 years or so.

What's next for this "classy" sport?

If Dott is innocent then the damage has been done anyway. How can he play a professional tournament again? His career is over. This is the media circus demanding blood regardless of the truth.

If Dott is innocent he will not receive any compensation. The law needs to change to protect the anonymity of those charged until they have been convicted in a court of law.

Snooker's performers are a microcosm of life's performers. Dott has a wife and family. They are suffering also.
