Not the Griff. He's far too sensible to attempt anything so churlish. :-)

Dennis turned a few heads because his first round match that year was the first time he'd worn his 'upside down' spectacles on TV. He didn't play any one-handed shots, though.

Is correct.

John Williams warned Werbeniuk against playing one-handed shots in the twentieth frame. Snooker Scene says Werbeniuk was implying it was time for Higgins to concede.

A few frames later, Higgins led 12-11 and 66-0 with 4 reds left. Werbeniuk needed 2 snookers but decided to concede himself. He never got as close to a Crucible semi-final ever again.

Bill Werbeniuk was runner up in the 1983 Lada Classic, who did he beat in the semi final that year?

Thanks Juddernaut.

Which qualifier won 9 frames in a row of a Crucible first round match en route to a quarter final in which he lost the first 9 frames of the match?
