Eight appearances for Holty, & a couple of last 16 places under his belt. He has lost to Steve Davis, Peter Ebdon, John Higgins (twice) & Mark Williams at the Crucible, and holds a win over Neil Robertson.

Three Crucible outings for Pinches; lost to Terry Griffiths, Stephen Hendry & Ken Doherty. The Hendry defeat was in the last 16, Pinches having ousted Jimmy White in the 1st round.
The year of Pinch’s Crucible debut was the same year as the last appearance of the player you are looking for.

the Milkman has qualified on eight occasions. He has lost to Ronnie O’Sullivan, Graeme Dott, Mark Williams (twice), John Higgins & Mark Selby.
He has also faced Neil Robertson twice at the Crucible, and won on each occasion.

Patrick Wallace only made one Crucible appearance, famously reaching the QF on his debut outing. He faced no WC’s that year, beating Alan McManus & Mark King before departing at the hands of fellow Ulsterman Joe Swail.

Right era Mick; Danny did qualify on 4 occasions, losing to Terry Griffiths on debut & Stephen Hendry on his last outing. In between, he departed to 3-time semi-finalist Tony Knowles & 6 times runner-up Jimmy White.

Quite an extensive Crucible record, Dean; 11 visits spanning 1982-93, beat pre-Crucible champ FredDavis on debut. Was seeded on 4 occasions with a high of no.8 in 1991. A quarter-finalist in 1989, Crucible champions on his resumé there were Alex Higgins (twice), Stephen Hendry & John Parrott. He lost to them all, though the year he lost to Hendry, Reynolds was the seed! (1988)

the answer, in this case, is NOT Lee Walker; but thanks for bumping my borderline-obsessive answer from yesterday (a day in which I spent many hours under heavy medication)

I never expected that to be right, I remember watching clips of that match on Youtube few months ago and also they shown it in during an interval in an ITV event this season.

A certain Ronald Antonio O'Sullivan. He seemed to enjoy that tournament. Think he won it something like 4 times, and should have been another one if not for his failed drugs test.
