So India was right. Interesting.
Perhaps Australia always fielded their own side, so lets take them out & throw in...
I’m thinking far-east, but not China yet; too early for them I think, so let’s try...
MALAYSIA, bit left-field but we’ll see

this brings us back to seven.
steady eddie was always able to find a couple of friends.
tbh the remaining correct entry is more than a little surprising given the success they've had with their own team.

Maybe Scotland?
There weren’t that many Scottish pros in ‘79 when the tournament started...

Surprised to see James Wattana never represented Thailand in the 80s, I assumed he had which is why they were in my selection. I thought he was beginning to make a significant mark around the late 80s - he was certainly notching a 147 in the ‘92 British Open so I thought he’d been around a few years by then.
Anyway, off out shortly to football then to the club this evening for the first of my frames in the snooker island world championship so haven’t got time yo research a proper question so will stick to the current theme :
the Rest of the World team had their most successful run in the ‘89 tournament, finishing runners-up to England after losing a decider.
Which 3 players represented ROTW that year?

Silvino Francisco captained the side. I assumed you meant him, and not Peter...

I'm afraid there was only one British Open in 98. Higgins beat Hendry 9-8 in the final.
Must have been a good match!

It was the year Fergal won one, Hendon mentioned it on the Snooker Scene podcast. Was it 99?

Good shout. Don't think it was as late as 2000, so if Iranu's wrong I'll log in 1997...

That's correct. Fergal won in April beating Hamilton in the final. It was the last tournament before the World Championship which Hendry would go on to win. Hamilton had beaten Hendry in the quarters of the April British Open.
Hendry followed up his World Championship win by beating Ebdon in the final of the first ranker of the 99-00 season, the British Open. Fergal lost to Swail in the last 16.
