Good answer (as it is the correct one)
It was the first knockout round of the World 9-ball championships, both having safely negotiated the convoluted Group Stages

They weren’t; that would have been carnage, particularly if Jimmy had been on the pipe

I think the infamous final between Silvino Francisco and Kirk Stevens may have been the first year it was a ranker.
So Silvino Francisco?

Michael Georgiou is the correct answer!
Has qualified through Q-school twice, in fact - 2014 & 2016; in 2018 he won the prestigious and much admired snooker shoot-out in Watford which, contrary to many people's belief, is actually a Ranking Event.
Well done ChengduFan!

Not Yan, he won the World Amateur title to qualify for his tour card.
Keep an eye on him, though, this season - he could be one to watch...

Can anyone name the other former pro who represented Cyprus?
He's famous for making a 147 in a qualifying match.

Better get a question out before the never-ending quiz comes to an end...
Who was the surprise runner-up (to Neil Robertson) in the 2007 Welsh Open, having hit his only professional maximum along the way?

Yes indeed; never did anything before, hasn't done much since - but he had the week of his life in February 2007. Even came from 2-6 down to lead Robbo 8-6 in the final, before losing the decider.
