No. I guess the thing is to identify the 147 in question.

It’s not quite ESH but as this has gone on a bit I’ll give it you.
David Taylor with the immortal words following the first ever televised 147 :
“There it is - beautiful - One Four Seven! Absolutely magnificent break”
Co-commentator, poor old John Pulman, couldn’t get a word in edgeways as David was (as John later said) “shouting his head off - he was so excited” ! You can just about hear John in the background say “unbelievable”.

Yeah, it gets a bit chaotic with them talking over each other, I forgot who said what.
This isn't a famous quote, but you can perhaps work it out logically if I tell you there's a certain irony in it. I need the speaker and the name of the player I've expunged.
"That's the last time [redacted] takes part in a qualifying event for a big competition over three frames. He's an established player now. Even five frames would be acceptable, but three just doesn't give players a chance".

I’ll try Barry Hearn talking about Steve Davis then, if only to eliminate the obvious first.

Well done, Ed.
It was indeed Barry Hearn lamenting the exit of Steve Davis from the 1980 British Gold Cup - a round robin best of 3 tournament.

Ooh, the quote is correct but the speaker is more ironic, given recent events.

Of course
Responding to comments made by the Ron ahead of their 2017 WC meeting. It was even ironic at the time as barely anything seemed to happen in the snooker world without hearing Shaun’s opinion on it!

Nope. It's a much more typically Ted Lowe thing than that.
