You've got the right song but not quite. I actually never knew Terry Hall co-wrote this until watching a documentary on the act who I am looking for.

Nope. I'm after a different pop act who had a hit with the same titled song.

Gorky's is correct, and while Sometimes by Ash is a great song, it's not who I'm after.

Out of my list I thought 5 were quite easy and 5 were tough, Gorky's is the first of the tough ones to go.

01. Poodle Rockin' - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci (SteveJJ)
02. I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight
03. Once I Had a Sweetheart
04. Carving Your Name
05. New York City Cops - The Strokes (HappyCamper)
06. Sometimes
07. Get On Your Feet - Gloria Estefan (Juddernaut)
08. Peace Piece
09. Our Lips Are Sealed
10. See Ya

Both guesses incorrect and the answers to both are mainstream acts that everyone will have heard of. A couple of clues

06. Sometimes - a British synth-pop due formed in the 1980s

10. See Ya - British female pop trio, formed in the late 1990s and still going strong today (I think?). Band lineup has gone through various group changes over the years

6 sounds like Pet Shop Boys

10 maybe Sugarbabes athough are they going strong?

sugababes are still going. they are even back as the original line-up after having to perform under the name mutya keisha siobhán for a while.

No to both I am afraid. Answer 10 was always going to be one or the other with that clue, but you plucked for the wrong one. For number 6, they're described as synth-pop, but I wouldn't necessarily think of them as that.

Incorrect. Right song, just looking for a different artist.

01. Poodle Rockin' - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci (SteveJJ)
02. I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight
03. Once I Had a Sweetheart
04. Carving Your Name
05. New York City Cops - The Strokes (HappyCamper)

07. Get On Your Feet - Gloria Estefan (Juddernaut)
08. Peace Piece
09. Our Lips Are Sealed
10. See Ya - Atomic Kitten (Juddernaut)

Juddernaut currently leading with 2, one apiece for SteveJJ, HappyCamper and csprince.

I'll leave it until Friday and then start with clues for the rest of them.

02. Husband & wife folk duo. Song is from the excellent 1974 album of the same name.

03. British folk jazz band who formed in the 1960s. The number five is a loose clue to the band's name.

04. Lesser known indie band of the mid-90s who got some play on the Evening Session. The band's name is also something that you spray.

08. Jazz pianist who was born in 1929 and died in 1980.

09. U.S. all-female band who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021. The lead singer had a very successful solo career in between stints with the band.
