Mark Joyce?

If you assign a number to each letter of gift G-I-F-T based on alphabetical order, you get 7+9+6+20 Sum them to get 42

Mark Joyce is currently officially ranked 42.

That is definitely not Iranu logic.

It’s not Mark Joyce, or Adam Duffy or Brian Morgan either.

Film and TV have nothing to do with the logic I used, though.

This is desperate. Ding Junhui?

A gift could be for a wedding, and 'Ding' is sum (some) of the word 'wedding'.

Re: 2 Word Clue

Not Ding. Time for additional clues I reckon:

Inn Cost

Myrrh was one of the gifts of the 3 kings.

Myrrh > Mur
Fee > phy

He’s got it! :D

Perfect reasoning as well. Over to you :hatoff:

Tommy Murphy could arguably have been a more fitting solution…

Gold was also a gift of the three kings.

Gold is colloquially known as ‘tommy’, short for the cockney rhyming slang of tomfoolery/jewellery :-)

So you’d have Tommy (gold) Mur (Myrrh) phy (fee).

We’ll ignore the frankincense bit for now <laugh>

No, because Tommy Murphy was coached by Frank Callan, so I win! <laugh>

P.S. That might or might not be true. :-)

Ha :-D Yeah I’ll go along with that!

Is it Jackson Page?

It’s not. But tell me your logic and I’ll see if clues are required.

No no no <laugh>

Concentrate on your opening logic, but not necessarily where it took you.

Negative.

A clue…

Alf initially found the right logic and made a fast start, but then came off the track.

Stuart Carrington.

Alf finishes in pole, lapping opponents on the way!

Perfect logic. The Nürburgring Nordschleife is known as ‘The Ring’. It’s the holy grail of racetracks, and managing a good lap there is a bit of a benchmark for car manufacturers. If their prototype puts in a good lap on The Ring, it’ll instantly become more desirable to petrolheads!

I’d love to nip over to Germany and take my car round, but there are enough ‘Nordschleife huge crash’ videos on YouTube to put me right off the idea <laugh>

Well played, and over to you <ok>

Re: 2 Word Clue

Postby AlfGit

That was a good one. Carrington only occurred to me after I'd fruitlessly read the entire history of Nürburgring. :dizzy:
