Yes, this is quite obviously it lol. Assuming pronunciation isn't weird.

Stephen Lee does indeed link with Lee Piefan. Or, rather, Lei Peifan.

Desperate Dan was famous for eating Cow Pies.

finals in pinyin are pretty much always the same. so if you know beijing then it's obvious. though people used to dumb anglo pronunciations might not get it.

It's incomprehensible!

You seem to think I’m disparaging your clue, which is the only explanation for you being an utter pin end, since experience tells me you don’t like any suggestion you or your posts may not be perfect.

But actually I’m only saying I would never have got the clue. Why that would be unbelievable I have no idea ;-)

Not Wayne Jones.

This one has a few levels of abstraction and is probably a bit tougher than my last one.

Evening/afternoon, Alf :hatoff:

I haven’t really been getting into these lately so while my brain is in quiz mode I’ll have a go.

Just thinking out loud here, a few initial thoughts.

Cowboy could be along the lines of a con artist.

Twins, I’m thinking Gemini. So stars etc.

If Dennis Taylor was the person setting this question, I’d have to go for Ding. As in “Ding John Wayne”.
