I apologise if the new clue does make it easier for others, but to me it looks like a new clue of similar difficulty. I suspect it doesn't really help narrow things down.
I did google cricket bing and cricket gilly, but turned up nothing. The former brought me to the search engine's web pages and the latter to "here's some results about gully".
Googling sara isn't going to be a very specific search and aid is a very loosely defined concept with a gazillion permutations.
Not criticising, I'm sure the clues are great, just hoping to explain why you might be waiting a long time for a response that indicates someone is getting close.

Australia had a great player called Adam Gilchrist, they did sometimes call him "Gilly" but unfortunately I can't see which snooker player that would fit in with.

Gilly is referring to Adam Gilchrist.
Bing is the nickname of another Australian cricketer from the same time.
The Snooker player participated in this year's Champion of Champions.

Brett Lee was ‘Bing’, and Gilchrist famously walked after being given not out. Or something. Apparently.

Nice one prop, that must be it, because Sara Lee is that frozen food range (?) and a Walker is another term for a zimmer frame (?)

Bonus points to Judders for the assist
This one should be pretty easy for anyone with a vague interest in a certain sport, or at least its history.

You’re right to look at motorsport. But it’s not Hamilton.

That’s the one!
The controversial Brabham BT46B became known as the ‘Fan Car’, after it used a huge fan to create masses of downforce and crush competition. It didn’t last long until the design was forced out.
