Funnily enough I watched two Earl matches last night on YouTube. He's so entertaining. In the first one he had is fingerse bandaged up, so I googled it and he said it raised his bridge hand. Looked so odd. In the second one, a few years later, the bandages had gone to be replaced by two 5kg weights strapped to arm: back to Google, and he said it made his bridge arm steadier! So quirky.
