Yes, sorry, missed this correct answer and was about to anoint Dan with the points :emb:

Prince gained the nickname by recording wins over Fred Davis, Ray Reardon and John Spencer close to the end of their respective careers, thus effectively ‘terminating’ these proud former World Champs (though of course he didn’t really, as they were all on their last legs at the time - particularly Fred who was on his third or fourth hip)

It's something that is hard to explain. John Virgo just has that certain passionate voice which is just meant for Snooker commentary and sounds great.
I felt that with Andy Gray in football and also feel that with David Lloyd aka bumble and Nasser Hussain with Cricket commentary.
