Not Soul 2 Soul but you're very much in the right era.

Three correct for KrazeeEyezKilla to tie the game!

1. I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges (HappyCamper)
2. Young Lion
3. Crazy Horses - The Osmonds (HappyCamper)
4. Alphabet Pony
5. Monkey Gone To Heaven - Pixies (HappyCamper)
6. Sheep
7. Buffalo Stance - Neneh Cherry (KrazeeEyezKilla)
8. The Rat - The Walkmen (KrazeeEyezKilla)
9. Beaver Patrol
10. Union Of The Snake - Duran Duran (KrazeeEyezKilla)

I'll give some clues to the remaining four in a bit (although I'm quite surprised that they'll be necessary; none of them are particularly obscure).

It certainly is! It's from their debut album, "Box Frenzy".

Not theirs originally though, it's a cover of a 1965 song by a garage rock band called the Wilde Knights.

6 could be Floyd. But I remember you saying you’re not a fan, so perhaps not?

Pink Floyd do have a song called 'Sheep', but that isn't the one I'm after, which is by a band from Hull who were different to Pink Floyd in pretty much every way imaginable.

When I think of Hull I think of Beautiful South / Housemartins?

The Housemartins is correct! It was their second single (their third release being "Happy Hour").

1. I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges (HappyCamper)
2. Young Lion
3. Crazy Horses - The Osmonds (HappyCamper)
4. Alphabet Pony
5. Monkey Gone To Heaven - Pixies (HappyCamper)
6. Sheep - The Housemartins (Prop)
7. Buffalo Stance - Neneh Cherry (KrazeeEyezKilla)
8. The Rat - The Walkmen (KrazeeEyezKilla)
9. Beaver Patrol - Pop Will Eat Itself (KrazeeEyezKilla)
10. Union Of The Snake - Duran Duran (KrazeeEyezKilla)

Quick clues to the two outstanding:

2. American band; other tracks include "Mansard Roof" and "Oxford Comma"

4. English-American duo; other tracks include "Fried My Little Brains" and "Sour Cherry"

Reg Varney wrote:Fried My Little Brains I think is The Kills

Spot on, Reg!

1. I Wanna Be Your Dog - The Stooges (HappyCamper)
2. Young Lion - Vampire Weekend (HappyCamper)
3. Crazy Horses - The Osmonds (HappyCamper)
4. Alphabet Pony - The Kills (Reg Varney)
5. Monkey Gone To Heaven - Pixies (HappyCamper)
6. Sheep - The Housemartins (Prop)
7. Buffalo Stance - Neneh Cherry (KrazeeEyezKilla)
8. The Rat - The Walkmen (KrazeeEyezKilla)
9. Beaver Patrol - Pop Will Eat Itself (KrazeeEyezKilla)
10. Union Of The Snake - Duran Duran (KrazeeEyezKilla)

Which means of course that with 4 correct answers each, it's a tiebreak situation between KrazeeEyezKilla and HappyCamper.

Here's the question for the two protagonists: How many weeks, in total, have these ten songs spent on the UK Singles Chart (top 100) according to the Official Charts Company? Answers as usual to me via PM by this time tomorrow, whoever is closer to the actual total wins.

Re: The Greatest Hits Quiz!

Okay, the answers are in. The question was: How many weeks, in total, have the ten songs spent on the UK Singles Chart?

Three of the tracks managed double figures: 'Crazy Horses' with 22 weeks on the top 100, 'Buffalo Stance' with 13 weeks, and 'Union of the Snake', 11 weeks. A tier down, longevity-wise from those three were 'Sheep' with 6 weeks, 'Monkey Gone To Heaven', 3 weeks, 'The Rat', 2 weeks and 'Beaver Patrol' with just 1 week on the chart. 'I Wanna Be Your Dog', 'Young Lion' and 'Alphabet Pony' were not released as singles and so make no contribution to the total. This gives a cumulative 58 weeks for the list.

KrazeeEyezKilla's answer was 49 weeks, HappyCamper's 117 weeks. So KrazeeEyezKilla takes it!

Well played to both, great contest!
