Since it was Higgins who won the world title that year, I suspect it was him?

Obviously the answer to this question is very dependent on the year. 2008 it was Ronnie, 2009-11 it was Higgins and then back to Ronnie again in 2012.

I remember Davis saying that about Higgins.
