As already mentioned one is a band formed in Camden, bit of a reputation for wacky, zany performances but this hides some serious work including tracks about homelessness, an IRA sleeper agent in London, and one of the band member’s sisters being ostracised by her family for being impregnated by a black man.

Another were a duo, better known for a Christmas no.1 - ironic as one of them died on Christmas Day a few years back

One is a solo singer, American, whose friendly greeting spent six weeks at No.1 in 1984

The fourth group became only the second in history to have each of their first three singles go to no.1, emulating Gerry & the Pacemakers from the sixties who came from the same city.
