The Awards will take place on Friday May 6 at the Dorchester Hotel in London. The best achievements of the year will be recognised, and a new snooker Hall of Fame will be launched. Money will also be raised for KILLLING Cancer.

All players who have won a major tournament this season have been nominated for the Fan's Player of the Year Award - see all the nominations below. Just pick the player who you think has been the best of the 2010/11 season, and email your vote to blog@worldsnooker.com

You can either vote straight away, or any time up until May 3, which is the day after the Betfred.com World Snooker Championship finishes. You will also be able to vote in CueZone (located in the Winter Gardens, Sheffield) during the Championship.

One lucky winner, selected at random from the people who vote in CueZone, will be given two coveted seats at the awards ceremony.

When you vote, please include your name, address and date of birth. Only one vote per person will be counted. Multiple votes from the same person or the same email address will be discarded.

Please note that the prize does not include any travel or accomodation expenses.

Early analysis of this does lead me to one point. The World Snooker Facebook page were coming up with their usual high level of analysis with comments such as; "Why is Ronnie not dere. he's bear da best. x" (Invented comedy example, for effect.)

But they raise an interesting point. Ronnie won a Premier League event, which is considered a proper World Snooker event now Barrt Hearn owns both. Winning that doesn't make Ronnie player of the season, because he's done buck all else. But then so has Nigel Bond, and here's there for winning the mighty Snooker Shootout. And who can forget the season Jimmy White has had, winning the Snooker Seniors World title  .

Point I'm trying to make, is that though Ronnie has had a shoddy season, you can't really pretend that White or Bond are player of the season. Bond in particular, because at least Jimmy has qualified for a lot of tournaments this year and shown improvement. But, if we're going to make out they are viable candidates it's interesting that they've left the Premier League winner out. Is this a lack of trust by Hearn that Ronnie will turn up, or behave himself if he does?
