We're guaranteed a legend in the final then BUT I think top-half will still win.

basically williams v higgins = williams win
williams v ronnie = ronnie win

Yes he has. Lost 17-14 to Doherty in the 1998 semis.

WILLIAMS INTO LAST FOUR
MARK Williams booked his place in the semi finals of the World Championships with a comfortable 13-5 victory over Mark Allen.
Resuming at 11-5 Williams quickly set about winning the two frames he required for victory when he trickled in a red that Allen had left sitting over the corner pocket. From it Williams made 61 which moved him to within one frame of his target of 13.
Allen was not without his chances throughout the match but he was unable to convert them into frame winners, and Williams took full advantage of the goodies that were frequently left on the table.
The same fate was to befall the Antrim man in what was to be the final frame as leading 39-17 he left a red hanging over the pocket he missed it and left the table at Willkiams's mercy. Striking in a close range red Williams dispatched a match winning break of 58 to seal a 13-5 victory and set up a semi final showdown with either John Higgins or Ronnie O'Sullivan.
