Meantime, Hendry just going through the motions now, I never thought I would see him give up so easily from a winnable position

Along will Allen and Dott, which is a really tuff one to call.
na hes more consistant and the way he breakbuilds you dont expect him to break down Dott and Allen great players but they breakbuild in a different way that requires a tough long pot to carry on Selby keeps everything simple.until this frame lol

no dis-respect to Hendo or Williams but I think the whole world wants to see more ROS vs Selby for the fact that they have great matches and there is a bit of tension involved.........
Agreed, it would be a great match up. Hopefully there would be a few incidencts in the match, remember the toucing ball issue when Ronnie played Ebdon a few years ago?
I think Selby has got to the stage were by he won't take any crap from Ronnie.
Hendry - you are the best ever and it was a pleasure to see you play at the Crucible, all the best in your retirement. You have earned it
Selby
Smash it to Ronnie

footygirl, I don´t think Davis has changed or re-invented himself at all.. He has always been a grinder and tactician, he has a grinder´s soul. These days it´s just much harder for him to win because of his age and obviously much better opposition than it used to be. But he just like to battle it out.

I like matches with some feeling and incidents - makes it even more exciting than just the balls on the table - I dont think there is any love lost and both have a desire to win "that match up" if it happens.....
11-5 Selby

Selby is putting the finishing touches to a comnmanfding performance in this session. Breaks of 35 and 72 have seen him storm into a 11-5 lead against Stephen Hendry. Murphy looks likely to close to 7-8 against Ding with one frame left to be played in this session

had his chances to win at least 2 frames in the first 4 frames he cocked it up and set Selby on to a flyer.

ill be honest had Hendry played Ding or Murphy he would have had more chances and possibly was leading both of them Selby is a cut above anyone ive seen on a consistant level even Ronnie and Williams.

Stats from this morning - Selby 671 points and Hendry 208. Scoreline is a fair reflection

Hendry is playing poorly though, Ding is more than capable of mopping up the chances that Hendry left to Henry this morning.

BIG final frame coming up, 9-7 would be a decent lead considering that this match has been very close throughout........ taking a lead into the final session could and should be crucial, good luck Ding

na it had nothing to do with the score Somedays Hendry Comes in to a match playing better than another day. his inconsistency is the problem even if it was 6-2 hendry overnight Selby would lead 9-7 Going in tonight yes Hendry would be in touch but the scoreline or the 7th frame had nothing to do with how he played this morning.

All over for Hendry then this year. But those suggesting he will retire are talking nonsense, just like Davis he will play on and on.
Deep down he must know, and have long known his peak has long since passed yet he continues to play.
Seems a lack of belief in his own ability is now costing him which is unusual.
The new increased calendar under Barry Hearn should re-motivate Hendry and a lot of other players like Stevens etc, to get their fingers out

I just think the balls haven't been running too kind in this match, agree that Ding's below his best at the moment, missed some sitters. But I think Selby has taken confidence from Hendry's poor play and Ding would do the same in that position.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves Ronnie has it all to do against Mark Williams.
That said if it is Selby vs ROS then ROS is never better than when he has something to prove or feels he owes a player something. WC final '01, Hendry '04, Ebdon Masters '06, winning the UK the year after he walked out '08, Selby Masters '09.
Lets not mistake Ronnie's annimosity towards Selby as Selby having Ronnie's number. A ridiculous claim when you only have to go back to December to see that isnt true. Only John Higgins can claim this at the moment.

Murphy has a great chance to make it 8-8 at the end of the second sessionm. Picked out a red in the pack and let fly- the red disappeared and the reds are split well now for the former champion. Murphy will consider himself very lucky tyo get out of this ession at 8-8 when really he has once again gifted opportunities to Ding. And he might be about to hand another one out too. He has just run out of position in potting a red. The black is cuttable but is loaded with danger. Plays safe and leaves Ding a red close to the top corner pocket just off the top cushion

Ding though misses it and allows Murphy back in. 39-14 is the score and three reds in good position mean that Murphy should level the match at 8-8. All set up tonight with plenty to play for

Don’t know why it is so ridiculous Witz, he said he was thinking about it during his first round game.
He won’t do what Davis has done that is for sure, he still believes there is a title in him somewhere and that’s why he has carried on. Sitting in the chair today, even before he was well behind he looked beaten and like a man you has lost all hope, not only of the match but his game altogether.

Absalutly agree 100% with case Stephen Hendry will not Carry on snake hissing against the wind like Steve has and i can Guarantee you he wont play a single qualifier.
