Are you forgetting the 13-4 drubbing Carter gave Murphy in 2008?

Okay, my big six would be Selby, Higgins, O'Sullivan, Ding, Robertson & Murphy. Is their any chance that four of that six could make the semi-finals going by the draw? I just can't be bothered checking myself

I don't think Ding can win it this year. He hasn't played many matches at Sheffield and hasn't reached a Semi yet. That would be an achievement for him. He admitted himself that there are better equipped (older) players.

Semi finals will be - Higgins or Robbo, Murphy, Allen and Ronnie or Selby. Cant really see anybody outside those 6 getting there.

Exactly, and this is the first time he's got something resembling a kind draw.

If Ned can beat Higgins, that would do Ronnie a big favour. But King will cause an upset and beat both John and Ned on route to the final

I can see Selby struggling this year, to be honest. I know he won The Masters, but since his appearance against Higgins in the final, he hasn't exactly lit up The Crucible. He seems to favour the shorter frame matches, and the jubilant attitude you find at Wembley rather then the reverential one you find at The Crucible.
Still, I would like to be wrong. It's a pity he has drawn Doherty in the first round. It'll be a tough match for him, and they are two players I admire.

Harsh on Selby I think, he was playing absolutely great against Higgins last year. Can't remember how many centuries he scored but it was a few, could well have gone all the way if he came through that.
