I hadn't had the chance to see the Shoot Out this weekend. But to see Nigel Bond! win is just very unreal. I would have been a millionaire if I had placed 10 bucks on him. Nevertheless congratulations to him.
Fortunately the German Masters will bring soon some proper snooker back on my screen.

You know what killed me in the prediction league? I took the 'Anybody can win it' too seriously, and predicted against Ronnie. I thought if Fu did pull of an upset, I'd be quids in and could lord my snooker knowledge.
It didn't work.

Well, we were told a 'favourite wouldn't win it' by Hendry, and that it could be won by anybody. But then they said that about the World Open.

The difference is the World Open was real snooker, that's why the cream rose over a short sprint because it was like the end of a long match with the pressure involved. The World Open is a bottle testing event.

Some time ago i posted, but cant resist this one! What a brilliant tournament. I nearly watched all, which i normally dont. I disliked the power snooker utterly, but to watch all top 64 players but 1 is unique. One frame was often more exciting than the last 5 world championship finals all together

They both have their own excitement value, in a very different way, but you cannot beat the tension and MEANING of a World final over two days, because you just know how much it means to both players.
