To be honest from a playing point of view im always far more in favour of longer formats as they give you longer to get into matches, make it more of a mental battle etc, but when i put my fans hat on, im more open towards a mix of formats, the World Open really opened my eye watching matches in their entirety and the drama from the first shot, wheras at the Crucible, even in great matches like Robbo - Gould ive tended to miss parts of the match through boredom, or being sidetracked. Sure if i was at home, id probably watch more though

anyway i feel its harsh for people to start knocking the lesser formats just for the sake of it, cos the UK is here now.

im open to a mix of formats if everything was long it would detract from the biggie's and if everything was short it would become mundane and one dimensional.

veriaty is the spice of life.

i just think there is room to increase some tournaments as well as shorten others (ie welsh open).

UK Should have at least a longer final even if it was a Best of 25.
