I find it hard to motivate myself to look at the PTC listings, to be fair. At the moment, all you can see is a list of results. What rivetting entertainment.

Daniel Wells is holding on to his top 24 spot by his finger nails after his 1st round loss today if Anthony Mcgill wins 2 matches tomorrow against Stefan Schenk and Jakub Rendla (who had a 1st round against a withdrew Ronnie) then Daniel Wells is out of the Top 24 For the finals.
Ronnie could have been the saviour of Wells had he played.

on the flipside had Ronnie played in these events though he would have been in the top 24 for fun and Wells wouldnt have crept in.
Not a chance in hell that Ronnie was gonna be at this event given the family news

What is the finals format, can't be a straight knockout with 24 players
Are the top 8 automatically through the first round ?

What I like about it is there will be snooker on Skysports and it will be all jazzed up and a proper occasion, and all those who have put the work in will reap the rewards and your Ronnie's, Robbo's and Allen's will miss out because they didn't put the effort in and it serves them right. As wild said in another thread, hopefully it will be a raving success of an event and the first of many many more.

spare a thought for Barry Hawkins he had made the effort he played well and when higgins went 3-2 up yesterday his ticket for Ireland was booked no way could Holt come back against Higgins but he did and Hawkins missing out by 100 points.

Kinda sums up Barry's career though doesn't it, nearly man, so nearly in the top 16 for several years, some near misses against some good players in big matches.
