Big win for Ding
well done.
I'd love to see him get on a march and have a real crack at the Crucible...

if he gets to number 2 in rankings he can have the honour of being runner up to the man who breaks the crucible curse in 2011

Hmmm... not sure.
I actually think Ding is the better player of the two, I've always though he's real class, great touch player. However, Robertson has got the better mindset.
It will be interesting, that's for sure. Selby will get in amongst them too, but I don't think he'll be as heavy a winner.

If there was a new big four with Ding, Robbo and Selby - who would be the 4th? Murphy? Ronnie or JH?

I think you have to base it on results and at the moment Carter is certainly the most consistent player and he would be my 4th.

Selby and murphy havent lived up to what id expect yet. Murphy better so far obviously, hoping this season brings rewards for the pair of them, infact a selby murphy WC final would be ideal

I don't think there will be a big four. It'll be three (Ding, Robertson & Selby). Carter, Murphy will be that bit behind.

I think Ronnie's time at the top is numbered. I'm not writing him off, far from it, but I do think I've seen a drop in the last year or so. Which is only natural, really. In snooker terms, he's pushing on a bit.

IMHO Ding is more talented but Robbo is far stronger upstairs at the minute, just think if you could fuse the two together

ding is better at breakbulding no doubt
both are lethal at long pots
robbo is stronger mentally no doubt
and robbo doesnt get down on himself like ding does at times
but ding is younger so might mature
and the game is as much in the head as on the table
so i think overall its around 50/50

and i would say matthew stevens is by far a better break builder than robbo so it just shows that its 50 % in the head and 50 % on the table
actually probably 60/40 with the mental side being more important

Yeh spot on Ding still has a lot of time on his hands, I keep saying it's weird to think he's only 23
You just can't fault Robbo's bottle at all though, and not just on the table but he's had to deal with it tough off the table too coming over to the other side of the world and having to spend so much time away from home.

Well, another good comment. Stevens is certainly a much better breakbuilder, but he has nothing in the bottle department, whereas Robbo has more bottle than... um... a bottle bank?
See what Robbo has done in comparison to Stevens...

I am too, I was a huge fan of his, and still am. I don't think it bothers him that much though.
